The final countdown

Today was the most exciting day and the perfect way to end our time at Blackwell. We did two activities which were both fun and scary! We climbed on a huge wall which we scaled up with great speed and zoomed down the ropes when we zip-wired (my favourite was definitely the zip-wire!) After all this, we sat down and ate a portion of fish and chips whilst enjoying the amazing view.

Now that we have reached the end of camp, I can see that we have all bonded as a troop and that we are much closer to each other than we were before. This is mostly because of the amazing activities that we have had to privilege of doing. And to finish off, we drove up to a hill near Birmingham and had a true British classic: fish and chips.

As it is the end of camp we did the best activities today zip wire and climbing and I think all the leaders are excited to be getting rid of us on Saturday.

This years summer camp has been a great summer camp the food was good especially the fish and chips and banquet the activities where fun apart from site service.

Banquet anyone?

Today we did crate stacking and played capture the flag, then after that long 2 hours of running around we sat and enjoyed a nice banquet of three bean chilli with rice and nachos. Then for dessert we had cake and custard with popcorn.

After crate stacking in the morning, we did some  site service during which we cleaned up the roads etc of leaves and branches. We were then blindfolded and led to our banquet. We had chilli with sticky rice and tortilla chips. And for dessert we had an odd combination of popcorn and custard.

Today was the ever loved banquet which was chilli made with strange enough DARK CHOCOLATE did taste nice though but still never put choclate in chilli but before all that we did some crate stacking (ya-hoo) after that we did some strangely fun community service.

After 6 days on camp, we have been soaked, sick and hurt but yet, everyone is still happy and today we did clearing the woods and community service (not as punishments) we also had this really cool banquet with a delicious pudding. That is day 6! Let's see what day 7 brings!

They've gone to bed!

Ok, the leaders are still awake discussing today's antics. Assault course, Camp Olympics off site, Blind Trail and Backwoods cooking. The funniest moments were when we had just lit the BBQ Pitts for dinner. Scout "A"......"Are we going to cook on those?" Reply "what do you think?"

The boys tested on their knot knowledge, for a cake. I've never seen so many scouts look worried and contemplate if they were actually hungry!

We were lucky with the rain. Only endured 3 hours of torrential  rain this evening. Clear now and outlook good.

The older scouts did their good turn for the day helping the guides take their tents down. Funny we had no shortage of volunteers!

An announcement for you all....

So today we do not have a blog post from the Scouts. The reason for this is the Guides. Now next to our pitch, we have around 190 guides mooching around and enjoying silent discos but as times have passed, a few Scouts have ventured over to talk to them. Some ran back in fright, others egged the older ones on and the leaders just sat back and laughed. Nonetheless they are now all playing a game of rounders and if you don't believe us then take a look below!
